How It Works

Fenbendazole targets parasites at the cellular level by binding to beta-tubulin — a structural protein essential for cell division. This binding disrupts the formation of microtubules (preventing parasite reproduction), impairs glucose uptake (depleting the parasite of energy), and causes cellular breakdown and death of the organism. Because human tubulin differs structurally from parasite tubulin, fenbendazole acts selectively on the parasite with minimal impact on host cells at therapeutic doses.

Dosage & Administration

Always follow your doctor's prescription. General clinical guidelines:

Standard adult dose: 500 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days; repeat after 3 weeks if required Take with food — dietary fat significantly improves absorption Swallow whole with a full glass of water Duration: as directed by your prescribing physician

Missed dose: Take as soon as you remember. If close to your next dose, skip it and continue your regular schedule. Do not double up.

  • Q: How long does it take to work? A: Most people notice improvement within 2–3 days. Complete parasite elimination typically occurs within one full treatment cycle.

Q: Can it be taken on an empty stomach? A: Take with food, preferably a fatty meal — dietary fat significantly enhances absorption and effectiveness.

Q: Is a repeat course needed? A: For some parasites (e.g. pinworms), a repeat dose after 2–3 weeks is recommended to eliminate newly hatched larvae.

Q: Which strength should I choose? A: Depends on your doctor's prescription and the parasite being treated. 500 mg is the most commonly used adult dose.

Q: Is Fenbendazole the same as Panacur? A: Panacur is a brand name with Fenbendazole as the active ingredient. This product contains the same active compound in pharmaceutical-grade tablets.
